Ekkart Kaske has been focusing for more than 12 years on Government Affairs and Public Policy activities of global players (Dresdner Bank AG, Allianz SE, Zurich Insurance Group). In his last corporate function, he served as Head of Government & Industry Affairs of the Zurich Group in Germany. In 2013, still within Zurich Group, he became interim co-lead of a pan-European government affairs role while continuing to hold responsibility for the German-speaking community in Brussels. Building upon his experience in strategic communication as well as regulatory and reputational risk management, in 2017 Ekkart Kaske founded a consultancy specializing in corporate diplomacy in Berlin. Since then he has been advising financial service providers, insurance companies and associations. In addition, he has taken up a leading role for a Brussels based non-profit advocacy and think-tank organization to ensure that the legal environment in Europe protects both consumers and businesses alike – with a focus on issues related to effective (mass) redress or ethical business regulation.
Earlier in his career he worked for nearly 10 years in the operations area of financial services companies – several of them included leading positions in China. Ekkart gained further experience in business development at a Telematics start-up in Trieste (Italy). He studied Business Economics in Munich, Glasgow and Bayreuth. During his Executive MBA at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management (Chicago) in cooperation with WHU (Vallendar), he focused on Political Risk Management and Government Relations.
Ekkart Kaske is fluent in German, French and English. He and his wife, a native of France, have three sons and reside in Berlin.
